Current Position:

- Associate Professor of Political Science, Department of Social and Political Sciences, Università degli Studi di Milano, via Conservatorio, 7, 20122 Milan; e-mail: nicola.pasini@unimi.it;

- He teaches Political Science, Public Administration and Local Government within the graduate and post-graduate program of the Faculty of Political Sciences, Economics and Social Sciences, Università degli Studi di Milano and Ethics and Public Policy in the Master of ASERI (Alta Scuola di Economia e Relazioni Internazionali – Postgraduate School of Economics and International Relations), Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milano;

- He holds a PhD in sociology and methodology from the Università Cattolica Milano (1997). He graduated in political science at the University of Milano;

- since 2005 he is director of Centro di Formazione Politica, Milano (www.formazionepolitica.org );

- since 1999 he is a member of SISP (Società Italiana di Scienza Politica), Italy (www.sisp.it);

- since 1998 he is the coordinator of Ethics and Public Administration Section of Centro Studi Politeia, Milano (www.politeia-centrostudi.org); he is also member of Scientific Committee of the Annual Forum on Business Ethics and CSR in a Global Economy (IX edition), international conference organized by Centro Studi Politeia and Department of Social and Political Sciences, Università degli Studi di Milano;
- since 1995 he is the coordinator of Welfare and Health Unit of Ismu Foundation (Iniziative e Studi sulla Multietnicità: www.ismu.org), Milano.


His research interests are focused on:

- transformation of relationship between politicians and civil servants in Italy and in Western Europe (spoils and merit system);

- analysis of public administration and local government;

- ethical frontiers in public and private management with an interdisciplinary approach;

- rethinking the welfare state and citizenship (i.e. health policy and immigration) in the liberal and democratic societies;

- transformation of parties and party systems in Italy and in Western Europe.
